As head teaching professional at Shipyard Golf Club since 1979, Ron Cerrudo has become well known throughout the Island. He was the 1992 Carolinas PGA Champion, is a two-time PGA Tour Winner, Carolina's PGA Teacher of the year and a member of the National PGA Teaching Committee, and he has represented the United States on both the World Cup and Walker Cup pro teams. In 1997, Ron relocated to Port Royal Golf Club as the head teaching professional.

Doug Weaver played in the 1993 U.S. Open and had the lowest front nine score. In the 1989 U.S. Open, he was the first of four golfers to make a hole-in-one. He also played on the 1989 and 1990 PGA tours. Doug has been an assistant professional at the Shipyard Golf Club since 1994, and in 1997, he became the head teaching professional at Shipyard.
